For 3 years now, North Energy has participated is what is regarded as being probably the world's most extreme sled dog race, namely Finnmarksløpet. This is something that North Energy is pleased to be associated with. Not just because the race in itself is challenging are requires muscles, is quite spectacular and attracts great interest all around the world– but also because the strategy and philosophy forming the foundation for Finnmarksløpet have much in common with those of North Energy.
Just like Finnmarksløpet, North Energy wishes to be at the forefront. We are engaged in bringing people together from around the entire world and from different cultures. Finnmarksløpet contributes, like we do, to placing the northern areas on the map. And an emphasis is placed on being good at what you do. This applies to both the people in the company, as well as to those who line up for the starting gun in the race. These are valueswe share and are pleased to be associated with.
For North Energy, the working relationship with Finnmarksløpet contributes to integrating the employees into the local society and into what is happening in it. Many have come from far away, and have no social network outside of their jobs. By participating in such events, they acquire a greater circle of acquaintances and that can also open doors outside their working hours.
The general manager of Finnmarksløpet, Svanhild Pedersen, says that North Energy is a working partner that contributes more than expected:
"That they provide us with funds contributes of course to ensuring stability and predictability, but that they also provide various types of competencies is of great significance to us. Through our close co-operation we have acquired an incredible amount of knowledge that we have made use of in developing our administration. In addition, the oil company's employees have been extremely committed, and a number of them have made contributions as volunteers during the event."
