Background
Erik Henriksen was was hired as the company's Exploration Director in 2011. He has extensive exploration experience from the Norwegian Continental Shelf, with a special emphasis in the northern areas.
Henriksen was educated as a geologist at the University ofTromsø, where he is also employed as an Associate Professor, teachingpetroleum geology.  He started his career at the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (2 years) and later spent 20 years at Statoil.  He has held specialised professionalpositions and managed projects in large parts of the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Henriksen was the head of sector and person responsible in connection with Statoil's “drilling campaign” 2000 -2001 in the Barents Sea, which resulted in three finds. During the past 10 years, Henriksen was worked with international problems and been rhe head of exploration for all the previous Soviet states, with a particular emphasis on Russia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. Henriksen is originally from the ore town of Narvik.
