Northern Norway is facing prospects of rapid development in the energy sector that will provide many new and challenging skilled workplaces. The region is currently not capable of filling these workplaces with locally trained scientific competencies.
North Energy desires to strengthen the competencies, results and interest in energy-oriented scientific expertise in general and in geoscience in particular. This is in line with the company's vision of achieving greater creation of industrial assets in Northern Norway.
As a contribution to this, North Energy has chosen to establish a scholarship for students who will contribute through their education to enhancing competence levels in Northern Norway. The scholarship is for NOK 20,000 and will be able to be awarded to one candidate from each of the Northern Norwegian counties of Nordland, Troms and Finnmark.
Requirements of applicants:
- Applicants must be registered as students in a Master's programme in:
- energy-oriented scientific disciplines
- geosciences, primarily geophysics - Applicants must document that they have begin the fourth or fifth year of their study programme.
- Applicants must be from the region
- Applicants must be able to describe and justify why they are the proper recipient of an education scholarship.
