North Energy aims to become a profitable and leading oil and gas company that actively contributes to increasing the industrial assets of Northern Norway. In order to achieve our goal, we must have quality in all aspects of our business. Our decisions are made in line with our ethical guidelines (link to document), which originate in generally applicable ethical values and norms.

Involvement of environments with local competence

North Energy has close relations with the industries and business communities of Northern Norway, and will make sure that local environments offering competence and technology become involved and contribute to creating profitable and sustainable enterprises. The company has a regional approach to field development and seeks alternative solutions that encompass developing multiple fields, preferably with the transport of hydrocarbon to land-based facilities. This often encompasses the use of new technology or the further development of existing technology, and North Energy views this as a core area for sustainable development of the areas in the north.

The long-term perspective of norms company is further exhibited in its contributions to the region's educational institutions. General enhancement of competencies and increased recruitment in scientific professions is the goal. North Energy supports a number of courses of study at university colleges and universities, however it is also directly involved in educational projects ranging from primary schools to the university level, providing assistance both with guest lectures as well as curriculum development in science and technology.

Enhancement of coastal emergency preparedness

North Energy supports projects that strengthen preparedness along the coast in order to reduce the consequences of accidents in connection with the oil and gas activity in the north. The Northern Norwegian local and polar night competencies that the coastal fisheries fleet possesses are valuable natural advantages. The understanding and use of this competence will be a central factor, regardless of the types of tasks. We call it the Kjentmannsmodellen” [Local Knowledge Model]. North Energy is now working on systematising and registering information related to this model, and has hired extra resources with responsibility specifically for this task.

North Energy's on-going HSE prioritisations ensure that the company's operating units prepare good and appropriate guidelines, procedures and work processes in order to be able to perform safe, secure and environmentally friendly operations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

Development of local industries and in the business communities

North Energy contributes through its Northern Norwegian owners and its close contacts with the industries and business communities in Northern Norway to the development and involvement of local expertise and business acumen. The company has recently developed a comprehensive database with over 550 registered companies, based on all known supplier networks in the north. This is the first step along the way in revealing a more powerful Northern Norwegian capacity to deliver to petroleum enterprises.
