As a Northern Norwegian company we are especially interested in the Barents Sea. All activity in this area is in principle more demanding than in the North Sea and the Norwegian Sea due to climate, light conditions, challenging geology and a dearth of infrastructure. Regardless, North Energy has a long-term perspective and desire to make finds that lead to development and production with direct effects and add-on effects for our part of the country.
The Norwegian Sea is also an important area for North Energy. In the Norwegian Sea it is possible to come into production more quickly, given commercially exploitable finds. The infrastructure already exists in the area.
North Energy has a promising drilling programme and we are working actively on business development in order to further enhance our exploration portfolio.
Preparing for Operatorships
North Energy has entered into a framework agreement with Odfjell Well Management AS in Bergen with the intent of assisting North Energy in building up its competence in drilling wells on the Continental Shelf. The contract is strategically important for North Energy with an eye towards the company's goal of conducting operatorships in all phases of the development and production of petroleum.
This is an element of the company's desire to build up its competence and create assets based upon the extraction of oil and gas offshore from Northern Norway. In addition, it accords with the company's goal of conducting operatorships.
The execution of the drilling operations will be controlled from North Energy's headquarters in Alta. Odfjell Well Management will provide both quantitative and qualitative assistance during the drilling operations.
